1. What is Career Guidance?
Career Guidance involves professional one-to-one support provided to economically active individuals to help them gain career clarity and self-awareness, so as to make informed career choices and decisions. This is carried out through a process focusing on discovering and developing a combination of Career Management Skills needed for individuals to manage their career and improve their competitiveness in the labour market.
Demarcated from other services and programmes such as life coaching and outplacement, Career Guidance starts with a career question and is tailored to the individual. With a personal career development plan developed by the end of the programme, Career Guidance Programmes aim to improve individuals’ employability and career mobility.
