The Overseas Markets Immersion Programme (OMIP) is tailored for professionals who are interested in reskilling while gaining overseas work experience. OMIP Eligibility Criteria for Employees

Ready to begin an overseas job placement and enhance your global mobility? Check if you meet these basic requirements to unlock an exciting international job opportunity:


  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Minimum 21 years old
  • Must not be a shareholder of the company, or its related companies
  • Must not be related to the owner(s) of the company
  • Completed National Service or graduate from educational institution for at least 2 years before training starts
  • Not currently participating in any other WSG-funded programmes
  • Should have little or no prior experience in identified new role, industry, or market
  • Must not have started training before application is approved

Eligibility Criteria for New Hires (Mid-Career Employees)

  • Not an immediate ex-staff of the company or its related entities
  • Offered or currently in a full-time position, with a contract of at least 12 months

Eligibility Criteria for Existing Employees

  • Employed by the company for at least 1 year at the time of application
  • New job scope requires significant reskilling

How does it work?

Training Plan for New Hires

New Professionals, Managers, Executives (PMEs) hire will undergo the Place-and-Train programme for up to 9 months. Employees will undergo structured on-the-job training based on new job functions.


Training Plan for Existing Employees

Existing employees will undergo a Job Redesign Reskilling programme for up to 9 months. The employer will also create a Career Development Plan for the employee, to track KPIs and potential career prospects.
