Eligibility Criteria for JS Scheme
The SkillsFuture Jobseeker Support (JS) scheme provides temporary financial support to lower- and middle-income involuntarily unemployed jobseekers while they take part in meaningful job search activities. This major Forward Singapore initiative seeks to lessen the strain on the involuntarily unemployed and their families, and is the result of discussions with the NTUC and the Labour Movement who have been championing for such an initiative.
Singapore Residents who were previously earning an average gross monthly income of $5,000 per month or less and residing in a Singapore property with an Annual Value of $31,000 or less are eligible for this scheme if they meet all other criteria. The scheme will provide successful applicants, who are actively job-seeking, with temporary financial support of up to $6,000 over six months.
Applicants must be employed in Singapore for at least six months in the past twelve months prior to the application for support. As a one-off concession, applicants who lost their jobs involuntarily on or after 1 April 2024 and do not meet this criterion, can still qualify for the scheme if all other criteria were met. They must however submit the application by 15 June 2025 before the concession expires. The full eligibility criteria can be found in Annex A.
Upon approval of their application, participants will take part in activities that aim to help participants in their job search and develop the skills and confidence to secure their next role. These include applying for jobs, attending career coaching or participating in a career fair. This activities-based system was developed in consultation with career coaches, with feedback from jobseekers. More details on the jobseeker support activities-based system can be found in Annex B.
Singapore Citizens who would like to apply for the JS scheme can visit go.gov.sg/jobseekersupport from 15 April 2025. Permanent Residents can apply for the scheme in Q1 2026. Those who require dedicated help and support on their application can approach JS ambassadors at the following touchpoints:
